Maomao has overprotective friends. Jinshi has to get used to it, because this is his life now.

Summary
The other day, Loulan had asked Xiaolan what people usually do on dates. Xiaolan had perked up, immediately assumed she had finally said yes to one of her many suitors, and drew up an entire date plan for her. She feels a bit bad for lying to her best friend in the world, but she can't really feel all that bad, not when both her arms are wrapped around one of Maomao's, her cheek leaning against her shoulder.
"I...don't think we're the correct heights for this?" Maomao wonders out loud.
Sometimes, it's better to try things once before giving up on them completely.
Or, what the hell has Loulan been thinking?

Suirei realizes, belatedly, that here is where the other shoe drops, because Jinshi finally tears his gaze away from Maomao long enough to consider the situation in front of him. Her, with the capacity to occupy Maomao's thoughts with their shared love for medicinal herbs. Loulan and Xiaolan, who Maomao doesn't fully realize she has the softest spots for. Rikuson, who shared a childhood with Maomao and has had her ride his motorcycle before. If you look at it in the way only a lovesick, jealous guy like him would: he is in enemy territory.
Everybody just wants Maomao to choose them. Maomao just wants everyone to shut the hell up.
Office AU fluff, I think? Spoilers for up to LN 4/5 due to a couple of the characters' connections; I think the GX manga has reached this point but it will take a while for BG manga to get here (at the time of posting it is currently at chapter 68). Anyway, happy new year!

Summary
Jinshi, self-proclaimed General Assistant to the CEO, is honestly really getting on Maomao's nerves.
Yes she blindly followed his lead into Ka Corporate Holdings, because the title of forensic accountant sounded so fucking cool and interesting and the pay is amazing, but no that does not mean this is ever part of her job description.
Jinshi hired her on a whim, and Maomao accepted, also on a whim. Neither of them could have ever imagined that they would ever prefer to stay together.
This is probably worldbuilding for the office AU, but dear reader, you be the judge. Spoilers tagged as needed!
