Summary
Seungcheol, a once highly decorated warrior, now exiled and forced to scrape together work as a mercenary with principles, is hired by an old friend to escort his illusive Elvish employer through the savage lowlands. Summary
Standing on the porch, watching the cruiser’s headlights disappear down the drive, Jihoon is hit, suddenly, by how isolated he is out here. He can just about spot the chimney spout of the next house over the Cherry tree grove, but that’s the only other living soul for miles, and God knows what the nearby town holds.
One grocery store, if he’s lucky. A post office, maybe. A police station because where else will Officer Split Personality Choi Seungcheol spend his days confusing people. There might be a coffee shop too, but Jihoon doubts he’ll be getting his Americano there. It’ll just be that freeze-dried shit in a Styrofoam cup, and some serious stink-eye if you think you’re getting anything different.
God, what was he thinking coming out here?
