Lucas pulls on the tie that is loosened around Eliott’s neck and wraps the silken fabric around his fingers. He straddles the taller brunette, hovering over his thick thighs, refusing to sit down because from this position he gets to look down at the other. The view is nice. Lucas smiles, leaning close enough to feel Eliott’s breath on his lips, close enough to count the individual lashes that frame stormy eyes.
He can see the way his pupils dilate, the way those eyes grow hooded with want.
“—how ‘bout we try that one again.” Lucas demands, voice growing soft.

Lucas owns an old shop that sells the finest hand tailored suits. Suits that cost hundreds and thousands of dollars. Priceless. One day Eliott, a mafia boss, stumbles across this shop and meets Lucas. Their lives become irrevocably entangled. This might or might not be a good thing. Blood is spilled and lives are destroyed but in the end, they have each other after the carnage settles. Right?

Lucas falls head first into love one day. He’s told it was different for everyone when it happens. For him, it was a feeling of insurmountable pain. A touch of love that had his heart forming cracks, spidery fissures opening up and breaking to the sound of laughter that struck him at the core when he heard it; not for the first time— but for the first time like this.
Falling in love, for Eliott, was a slow and intimate affair. It was living and learning how to breathe, it was crumbling and building himself back up, it was feeling his heart break over and over and mending into the shape of the one he loves— it was realizing that Lucas was the one.

Eliott clears his throat and looks ahead, away and fails to hide the dusting of pink that heats up those high cheekbones.

Lucas takes some time to recover from himself on a farm and on the way he learns that he's bad at opening up, horrible at flirting, horses hate him, and Eliott is just as closed and tightlipped as he is. All things considered, he gains an appreciation for burnt toast.

…soon enough, 4:30 rolls around and he's still in his sweats calling an Uber. He could be fashionably late.
It's Eliott. He could not show up and still that would be okay. Yes.
Yet he stands on the sidewalk, fiddling with his phone and waiting for his ride. Holding his breath and thinking about that time he helped Yann draw all the tiny penises on the practice footballs with brown sharpie so it would blend enough that no one would notice till it was too late.
Sophomore year was wild.
He keeps that thought with him all through the ride. Every twist and turn and bump in the road only serves to reset his thoughts as he refocuses on where he's headed.
When the car stops, Lucas takes a breath and pays his driver even when he thinks the dude just dropped him off in front of the gates of hell.
"I really didn't — just got you to the address you gave me sir."
Lucas nods. Of course he has no control of his mouth.
The young college kid deserves a nice tip. If only to keep him quiet.
