Summary
Martin's attempt to enact a rom-com trope backfires.
An overdue conversation is had.
***
“I asked what happened, when you came back,” Martin said, suppressing as best he could the panic-stricken, deeply unhelpful horror threatening to claw its way up his throat. “You were alright, you said you were alright.”
Jon smiled flatly and stared at his hands, clasped in his lap.
“You didn’t ask what happened. You asked if they hurt me.” He took in a shuddering breath. “They did not. In the service of preserving my precious skin.”

If he got coal on Christmas, then surely he must be considered a child?
______________He was immortal, nothing that could hurt him would last.
He would heal, and continue bringing Joy, snow, and fun times, and nobody would know.
Maybe that's why trembling, scared, alone, and so so cold, he took a dip in the freezing water of the Burgess lake. His lake. The one Jackson Overland died in, and where Jack Frost was born.
