An eighth-year fic centered on Pansy, who returns to Hogwarts expecting to finally secure the future her parents have planned for her: marriage to Draco Malfoy. The two have always been more platonic partners than lovers, perfectly content to marry for convenience…until Draco unexpectedly ends their arrangement before term begins.
She accidentally discovers his secret relationship with Hermione and somehow gets roped into keeping an overprotective Harry Potter distracted.
What begins as a favor quickly becomes complicated as she juggles Prefect duties, family expectations, an increasingly impossible-to-ignore Harry Potter, and the realization that she can no longer rely on becoming a wealthy Pureblood wife.

Originally written for meiri_fics for 2010's HP Porninthesun exchange. It's one of the longest fics I've written, which is an achievement in itself, I suppose. I particularly like the rose motif.
