When Spencer Reid forgot to take his suppressants two mornings in a row, it really shouldn't have been a big deal. He had them in his bag at the hotel, and as long as he took one that evening, he'd be fine. What he couldn't have prepared for, however, was the lab the latest victim worked at going into an at least twenty-four-hour-lockdown while he was in it.
When Aaron Hotchner was asked to aid his subordinate through what would otherwise be an agonizing heat, he'd had several reservations, one of which had been the consent issue: Omegas couldn't legally consent to sex during a heat unless it was twenty-four hours in advance. With every concern rebutted logically (because of course the Bureau had an Agent Consent form in case of emergencies), he finally agreed.
Of all the possible repercussions, however, neither man expected the one they received.

Sherlock found that he was gazing at John for the twentieth time that evening and frowned, blinking rapidly and shaking his head. He had been watching John more than normal over the past several days, and had followed John on more than one occasion through the streets of London; sometimes without even knowing he was purposely doing it. Sherlock had found new ways to touch John, as well; to invade his personal space, push up against him, and be close enough to smell the scent of his skin. It was curious and hindering, and Sherlock wasn’t sure how he was supposed to feel about it all.
Getting to his feet, Sherlock paced before the fireplace, trying to keep his eyes off of John’s face. He flushed with a growl, fisting his hands in his hair, “Stop it!” he snarled at John.
John blinked up from his novel he had been reading in silence and frowned at his friend, "Sorry, stop what?"
Sherlock gestured at him with one hand and then the other, pacing again and then stepping up close to him with an expression of frustration, “Do you have to be so…so…’John’?” he complained

Though his words left his mouth in a jumble, Tony heard them clearly. His smile stayed on his face as he slid his fingers up to circle Steve’s wrist.

Single parent Tony Stark’s son is the most important thing in the world to him – the ONLY important thing in the universe. A hipster Brooklyn coffee-shop owner & veteran doesn’t even rank on the list – even if he is hot and funny and kind.
When he hears about the possibly-high-traffic-and-therefore-dangerous coffee shop moving in next door to Casey’s preschool, he does the only sensible thing he can think of – he confronts the owner and tries to convince him to open his shop elsewhere.
Of course, Steve Rogers is stubborn as hell, and it turns out he can make a mean cup of coffee.
It sounds like an ordinary kid-fic coffee shop AU, but look a little closer and nothing is quite what it seems.

When the mysterious group of vigilante assassins known only as 'The Avengers' are tipped off about the dirty secrets that lie within Stark Industries, Steve Rogers has his heart set on taking out Tony Stark for good in order to protect the rest of the world from his evil. He's seen the footage, after all- Stark is a man who fights only for himself. And of course, when a job arises as chief bodyguard for Stark, to protect him from the growing threat of an ominously infatuated stalker, the opportunity is way too good for him to miss out on. It's the perfect placement, and the perfect way to find out whether or not their tipoff is genuine.
But as Steve falls into rank as the new bodyguard for Mr. Stark and he spends time getting to know and protect him, his initial hatred begins to falter and merge into something different, something far more terrifying than the prospect of killing the face of Stark Industries.
Steve Rogers may just be falling in love with him instead.

TITLE: How to Make Friends - T. Stark. - Age 6
OBSERVATION: People do not want to be friends with a know-it-all
HYPOTHESIS: If I act less smart I will make friends.
PREDICTION: If I let Jimmy Francis thinks he's smarter than me he will be my friend.
EXPERIMENT: Gave wrong answer in class when Jimmy had his hand raised too and it was an easy question so he got it right.
RESULT: Jimmy Francis sat with me at lunch after I got the answer wrong and he got it right.
CONCLUSION: Hypothesis confirmed. I will make friends if I'm not so smart.ADDITIONAL RESULT: Jimmy Francis ate the cookie Jarvis packed me.
CONCLUSION 2: Jimmy Francis is a dick.----
35+ years have passed and Tony's still waiting to be proven wrong.
