    Summary

Tommy's the one to notice the tourist first. There's a park across the street; it's got a few food carts and a place where people like to get drinks, as well as a small armada of tables for open-air dining. It's popular in general, but especially as a tourist destination, and they've pulled off a few little cons there before.

Techno looks where Tommy's focusing on, and oh, there's a perfect target.

Or: great pretender if it were found family
(aka, techno tries to scam the wrong person and gets adopted against his will)

    Summary

Techno looks away first, somewhere just over his shoulder. The far wall has a map pinned across it… topographical, dotted with little red circles that Techno doesn’t recognise. He doesn’t ask.

“Wilbur’s good,” Techno says eventually, voice distant. “I know he’s good.”

“Then you know he’s wasted anywhere else.”

    “He’s not ready.”

Dream’s voice stayed flat. “Neither were you.”

Techno wants to argue that. Wants to say something, anything, that’ll cut through the politics and coldness and anger Dream worked into every word. But he can’t.

Because… because maybe Dream has a point.

He got his license at sixteen. Was flying with ranked officers at seventeens. Called a prodigy years before that. No one asked him if he was ready. They just gave him wings and pointed at the sky.

He’s still not sure if he came back down.

Or, Techno’s been forced into teaching by a medical discharge and he has definitely fully completely come to terms with it.
Enter Private W. Soot, a natural pilot with ZERO bodily preservation and an odd obsession with being perfect. In the end, he forces Techno to learn that broken wings still yearn for the sky.

    Summary

At first it was just a tangle of cloth, sodden and clinging to itself, streaked through with dark red patches. Then he saw blond hair, matted with blood, skin waxy and cold, littered with bruises blooming across flesh like grotesque flowers.

“Man overboard!” Tubbo’s voice split the silence.

Instinct slammed into action; Techno ripped the heavy captain’s coat from his shoulders, thrusting it into Wilbur’s arms. He climbed onto the wooden railing and then, with a powerful push from his legs, Techno launched himself off the taffrail, body arcing through the air, arms outstretched.

The cold struck the instant he hit the water, but he kicked hard, pushing himself to the boy. Techno was close now, though his body rocked dangerously, threatening to slip beneath. Techno saw how the cloth stuck to the boy’s chest, how shallowly it rose and fell. Alive, then. Barely.

—or, Tommy’s betrayal to the Royal Navy forces him to walk the plank, only to be saved from death by Technoblade, the new captain of The Syndicate, the most feared pirates on the seven seas. But redemption will cost Tommy another betrayal: leading The Syndicate straight to Dream, captain of the Royal Navy’s mightiest ship, the H.M.S. Spirit—

    Summary

“Insanity,” he says, eyes flitting across the milky-white pages. “Nothing but insanity.” Mirage smiles and flips a page. The book opens to a charcoal drawing– a faceless void with a sharp grin, and streaks of black across the page in distressed lines without rhyme or reason. Inside the creature’s hands

    death blooms.

“I think it’s beautiful,” Mirage lets out a breathy voice, studying the art and running his gloved hands over the marks. “There’s always insanity somewhere inside the tortured artist.” He looks at Tommy with a soft honeyed gaze. “At the intersection of art and humanity, there is madness.”

    or;

Your average vigilante!Tommy fic, but the villains are actually villains.
