When most people lost a fight, they sulked for a bit, maybe burst into golden monster dust if you were particularly lucky, or just started trying to kill you again if you weren’t.
They did not, in Percy’s (quite considerable, he likes to think) experience, start glowing so brightly that it felt like your retinas would never recover before knocking you sound unconscious.

“Master??” Anakin asked in confusion, trying to force his stubborn eyes to stay open and focus. This was Anakin’s Master, but he looked the way he did ten years ago! Undoubtedly, he was even younger than that; the evidence hung behind his right ear and down to his shoulder – he was a Padawan. Anakin sat up in shock. “Master, what’s going on?”
Obi-Wan looked back over his own shoulder, but there was no one there. Who was this boy talking to? Who was he calling Master? “Uhh. . . I, uhhh. . . I’m. . .” Obi-Wan started to back away.
“Obi-Wan?” Anakin tried again.
Obi-Wan stopped in his tracks. “You – you know me?”
“Of course I know you!” Anakin’s expression was painted with horror. “You don’t know me??” he asked unnerved.

Anakin, chained, gagged, heavily sedated, chose this moment to lunge at Obi-Wan with a wild, crazed hatred. His yellow eyes were set in pits of darkness, a ring of purple bruises around them contrasting against a sickly pale face.
“I understand,” said Obi-Wan. “I will renounce my vows as a Jedi.”
“A fool’s errand, I believe this is," said Master Yoda. "But a choice, you have made. Return, you may, in five years’ time, if safe, he is. Reevaluate then, we shall.”
Obi-Wan nodded. “I accept your terms.”Alternatively: after a failed order 66, in which many Jedi still died but the Sith were defeated, an exiled warrior and a boy wander a distant planet and attempt to get along.
