It’s not until she’s brought a basil and strawberry sponge cake to Neville Longbottom and his new girlfriend, Hannah Abbott, a dozen rhubarb hand-pies to Luna and Xenophilius Lovegood, and another basket of ganache-covered muffins to Dean and Seamus, that Hermione admits to herself what she’s actually doing: she’s making a thing of this. It’s a veritable PTSD tour. With pastries. And hand-skimmed clotted cream. And she has no idea why she’s doing it, but it’s becoming very apparent that she is.
Sometimes you're sad. Sometimes you need dessert. And sometimes, it's a little of both.

“Hi,” she begins, tone casual because that’s what they are—casual. Or so he insists. “Shouldn’t you be resting before it starts up again?”
He draws to a halt in front of her, chest heaving. She lifts her butterbeer between them, brows raised invitingly.
“Thirsty?”
He ignores the offer, eyes burning into hers with unblinking intensity.
“What’re you playing at?” he grits out, the words low and just for her. With his back to the room, no one else can see the way his entire being is radiating displeasure.
But that’s the way it’s always been. A secret between them, no one else the wiser.
She takes the sip instead, eyeing him over the rim.
“You’re the one playing,” she remarks lightly. “I’m just on the sidelines.”

Summary
Hermione Granger’s current favourite book is undoubtedly Agrippan Arithmancy and Its Applications.
… And it’s definitely a book on arithmancy and not a smutty romance novel with a transfigured cover.
Her colleague and cheeky nuisance Draco Malfoy is determined to find out why a book about arithmancy of all things has got her so flustered.
A little bit of book espionage later, and things spiral slightly out of control when Draco and Hermione find themselves sucked into the book. The only way out? Act out all the tropes (and try to not fall in love in the process).
This is a slow burn, sort-of-enemies to lovers fic (they're not really enemies, they just really like annoying each other). It's heavy on dialogue and banter, isn't overly angsty, and is, of course, packed to the brim with all our favourite tropes.

Summary
A Schitt’s Creek inspired fic based off the question: What if the Malfoys lost everything?
After being stripped of all lands, titles, and inheritances as reparations for the war, the House of Malfoy is left with only a single asset to their name: a town named Great Tit Bottom that Lucius won in a drunken game of cards.
Inspired by a reddit post by u/yoyoyoyoyoyogo, I decided to give this idea a try! You'll notice a lot of parallels between chapters and episodes of the show, especially in the these first few chapters as I get my footing for this kind of writing style. Even so, there's a lot that's so specific to the world of HP that I can tell it's not just going to be a Schitt’s Creek retelling.
And general PSA: "Lively, yellow-and-black Great Tits brighten backyard gardens, parks, and woodlands with their cheery songs and bold behavior. This large tit’s size, yellow breast, black head, and bright white cheek patch help set it apart from other tits in Europe." This official description alone is enough to have me cackling because I have the emotional maturity of a middle school boy, apparently.
