Summary
Alhaitham wasn’t quite sure he’d ever felt a sense of belonging in the world he lived in.
He’d felt at home, maybe. Accepted, loved even, by the people around him. Tighnari had once, very gently, told him that was how he’d felt too. Neurodivergence was a painful thing to have growing up, Tighnari had told him, but it didn’t have to stay that way. It wasn’t always so alienating. Alhaitham didn’t know how to tell Tighnari that it wasn’t the autism that made him out of place. This was not people struggling to communicate with him. This was the land of Teyvat itself rejecting him, somehow. Something soul-deep told him that he would never belong here. Teyvat itself hated him for existing. In the back of his head he knew that something far more vast than him was out there, and would tear him apart given the chance.
He was just lucky it hadn’t noticed him yet.
He was always waiting for it to notice.-----
A fic in which Alhaitham is not human, and goes about the process of figuring that out as if it's some sort of medical condition. Because Alhaitham is nothing if not good at logic, even to a fault.

Summary
In the city of Teyvat, one can be lucky enough to be bestowed a vision, a gift from the gods, they called it. Those visions gave the powerless a taste of power and thus, it brought up two sides—the heroes and the villains.
Kaveh is one of these heroes, choosing to use his gift to defend the city instead of destroying it and to protect the people. In his civilian form, he works as an architect in Teyvat. But when there's danger, he switches into his hero alter-ego Mehrak.
Alhaitham, however, is one of these villains. And his name, and power, is known throughout the land—Vultur Volans.
For years, Kaveh has been working alongside other heroes to keep the city safe. But when a new villain enters the ring to immediately cause death and destruction, proving to be the biggest threat Teyvat has seen, will Kaveh be able to save them all?

When Kaveh was still a student, there was barely any time to think about romance, though. He noticed it alright, but always in relation to others, always too busy himself to even spare it any thought. "I’m dedicating myself to my studies", he would say to the nice aunties at the food stalls whenever they decided that he was a good enough candidate for their daughters and started to coax him into agreeing to a date. Then, "there is no time for looking for a partner when I have to make a name for myself", he would find himself answering whoever brought up the topic after his successful graduation.

Or: Kaveh has always been too busy to spare romance much thought. After some time living with Alhaitham, though, he finds himself just free enough to finally consider the matter, and what he finds is that he might not really want it as much as the whole world seems to want it. The thing is, though, he is also not necessarily against it, and when he and his roommate start to get closer, he finds that some aspects of it are... nice.
