Summary
Being the villain was a miserable job. Even before he got sent back in time, Dream knew that he'd screwed up majorly when choosing his path. So when he wakes up three years in the past with a new chance to live, and a new chance to fix his relationships before they even fell apart, of course he'd do anything it took to keep it together.
He just needs to sort out his newly forming attachments, if he's not careful his attachments will be the end of him. Or so he thinks.

Soon, they realize the two don’t just fight together—they move together, eat together, pout together, and even share the same smug expressions. Berk can’t decide if it’s funny, adorable, or slightly concerning, but one thing is certain: boy and dragon have officially become two halves of the same mischievous coin.

Summary
A small part of him felt cheated, in a way. This was supposed to be his success. Astrid was definitely learning from his friendship with Toothless, so all of the praise she was getting was supposed to be his. He was the one learning about dragons, and he would have used all this knowledge to get their training sessions as short as possible if it wasn’t for Astrid constantly beating him to it.
But a much more prominent part of him figured this was better. He didn’t want the glory anymore. He didn’t want anyone to think he was a dragon killer prodigy. He didn’t want people to swarm him now that he was finally hanging out with a friend who actually liked Hiccup for who he was, not demanding he changed in the least. Toothless was much better company than the Vikings of Berk.
