Summary
Stede and Ed have fought their way back to each other, killed Benjamin Hornigold, and faked their deaths at Okracoke Island. Now they’re setting sail into their new life with the crew of the Revenge.
But the past doesn’t go away just because they’ve declared their love. The crew is still unhappy about that whole “attempted murder” thing, and neither of the co-captains is very good at relationships.
When the Revenge finds a cursed necklace, things begin to go wrong. The co-captains must lay the curse to rest, come to terms with the things they’ve done—and maybe, just maybe, work their way towards true intimacy.
Along the way there’ll be storms, swordfights, handsome rival pirate captains, naval battles, seagull goddesses, and lots of talking it through, as a crew.

Blackbeard had kissed before, but Ed hadn’t. It felt different, with the warm breeze playing in his stubble and Stede’s skin against his bare face. He wanted to push his hand into Stede’s hair and feel the ridiculous colour like sun against his fingers. He wanted to put his ship before the wind and fly. He wanted to be Ed forever, if this was what it felt like.

“Hello,” says the strangest voice Ed’s ever heard, jolting him out of his reverie, sending his heart speeding into chaos.He opens his eyes and he’s staring straight at a stuffed animal in the shape of a human person. It is bald with a tiny hat and too-big eyes and it wears a blue shirt and a name tag that says Jeffy in the sort of scrawl normally reserved for words written in blood.
