“Oh?” Will says, and it’s definitely teasing now, enough for Mike to feel himself turning warm, all down his neck and to the tips of his own – sadly unpatterned – socks. “Someone?”
“Yeah.” Mike nods. Oh, god. This is fine. “In a very arbitrary sense of the word. Just– people. Someone.”
Mike is approximately ninety-eight percent sure that his feelings are requited. That last two percent, however, has really been throwing him for a loop.

“Looks like I bit you.” Will tilts his head to get a better look. All Mike can do is stare at him. His fluffy hair at the front, clumped pieces at the back where he’d slid his fingers in a mere few minutes before. His pretty green eyes that look hazel or even brown in this light, the dark circles he gets when he drinks framing them like intricate paintings. A satisfied, bloody smile.
Mike isn’t satisfied. He swallows thickly, choking down the words 'don’t you want more?'
Or: Will dresses as a vampire for a college halloween party, but Mike thinks his costume isn’t bloody enough. Will lets him fix it. Mike goes into a crisis.

Will freezes. He’s quiet for one… two… three moments, before slowly, he lifts his head and meets Robin’s gaze. His eyes are still wide—full of an understandable uncertainty but also a hope that’s so infectious that Robin can’t help but smile.
“I… I think so,” he confesses. “I… I don’t know if they actually mean anything, but… but everything you said to look for… all those signals…”
His voice trails off, and Robin offers a wry smile, finishing the thought for him, “They’re definitely there.”

Even without his memories of the Temple of Silence, Cyno gravitated to Tighnari.
Even without full knowledge of the ancient race, the Valuka Shuna followed his heart each time it tugged him to the General Mahamatra.
Or, Tighnari reflects on his relationship with Cyno after the events of Cyno’s Story Quest Act 2. Cyno acts on that reflection.

“Since when do you care?” Kaveh asked, his tone coming out more accusatory than he’d meant for it to. It was just so easy to fall into this rhythm of give and take, to push Alhaitham away when he knew they’d both be pulled right back in by the end of the night.

“Wait–” Chongyun reaches out, with much more assurance than he feels, and abruptly realizes he doesn’t quite have anything to say. “I– could you recap for me?”
Xingqiu’s eyes widen slightly, hands in the middle of gathering his belongings.
“Just to make sure we’re on the same page.” Chongyun adds, for clarity.
He looks like he wants to say something. The telltale scrunch of his nose when something’s on the tip of his tongue, but Chongyun pays it no mind. After all, they should’ve stopped knowing each other this way years ago.
“I–” Xingqiu clears his throat, “will you go as my date for the 37th Feiyun Commerce Guild gala?”
or, Xingqiu and Chongyun break up, trip and fall in love all over again.
