Joshua, as someone of his stature, had many titles: Dominant of the Phoenix, Keeper of the Flames, former heir to the ducal throne of Rosaria… Idol of the Undying. And while they were all titles he’d never been particularly fond of, always ever ones to place an inexplicable amount of expectation on him that he wished he would do without—he knew. He knew that were he to humor them for even a moment, perhaps he could get away with most anything he desired to.
…But he had never been that sort of person.
No matter if his titles and his position were the only things keeping him from what he’d truly wanted; Joshua could never dream of jeopardizing another in favor of his own selfish desires.
