The moment Mira and Zoey usher her offstage, away from the hundreds of thousands of fans, the adrenaline leaves her as fast as it came. She sags backward, stumbling over nothing but her exhaustion, and for a moment, she thinks that hitting the floor would be a welcome sensation.

Rumi considered it—she normally gave in quickly—but the way she’d looked at her before she kissed her neck, and the way she’d reacted to Rumi threatening to leave and finish herself off, was echoing around her brain. She was forming a theory, and she needed to test it.
She hooked a finger under Mira’s choker, pressing her knuckle gently against her throat, and tugged. She felt more than heard the way it made Mira’s breath hitch. She did it again, and this time Mira’s nails dug in deeper involuntarily.
Which was a very interesting reaction.
While Zoey's away Mira learns something new about Rumi.

And suddenly, the pieces aligned.
The growing distance from the other girls. The long sleeves and heavy layers she wore even in the suffocating Seoul heat. The insistence on separate dressing rooms. The gentle, almost ashamed refusals whenever the bathhouse was mentioned.
Mira’s heart sank as the final piece fell into place, her mind replaying the lyrics Rumi had been singing not even a mere ten minutes ago:
“When your patterns start to show, I see a pain that lies below…”
She wasn’t singing about the demon marks the Saja Boys bore. She was singing about patterns she had carved into herself.
OR
What if in Mira’s confrontation, she pushes just a little harder and learns that the meaning behind the lyrics ran far deeper than she ever expected? A canon divergent fic where Rumi’s patterns are revealed, but not at all the demon kind.

Rumi always felt guilty. There was never a day she didn’t. It was always one thing or another. She always blamed herself if something went wrong. One of the girls took a bad blow from a demon, the number of fans decreasing, even if she burnt a piece of toast. It didn’t matter what the mistake was, even if she wasn’t the reason, she blamed herself. When she was a child, she began blaming herself for her mothers death. This never stopped. Because of her guilt, she felt that she needed a punishment.

Came from the idea of "What if Mira and Zoey rewrote Takedown to make it more romantic because nobody uses their music to hurt Rumi" Because surely Rumi should have trauma or something from bein forced to show her patterns like that!!
mostly just fluff and vague hints of hurt, and lots of kissing and biting.
TLDR I rewrote a lot of Takedown to make it a love song, and am having Mira and Zoey sing it to Rumi!
