“On the Sea of Souls, what are you insinuating by twice?” Mydei narrowed his eyes as he scrolled through Phainon's Instagram. He wasn’t quite ready to divulge that his fancy had carried on until now.
“Um, Mydei?” Castorice said, peaking through her fingers. “You just liked his post.”
In which 9-year old Mydei fell in love with his best friend, left without a word, and then fell in love again with the same man over a decade later. Cue intense pining, two emotionally-scathed losers, and fatal flower-coughing illnesses.

When Ratio first smiled at him, Aventurine didn’t really feel anything special. He had been faintly delighted, but that was it.
When Ratio invited him over to his apartment, Aventurine had been surprised. Ratio must’ve really wanted to finish the planning of their recent objective.
When Ratio first held forth a bouquet of flowers, Aventurine thought that Ratio's apartment must not be as spacious as he previously thought if it couldn't house a simple vase of flowers. He's honored to have been chosen as Dr. Ratio's personal storage, though.
It was only when the good doctor showed up at his door—dripping with rain and sweat—and barged into his apartment, asking Aventurine to ‘verily respond to his advances and to repudiate them now, instead of leading him on like a stray animal’, that something seemed to be amiss.
Don't be fooled. This is far from a silly, happy romcom.

Mydei likes the sun. What he doesn’t like about it is when it sets.
“Let me guess,” Phainon muses when Mydei tells him as much. “It’s because the night is scary, and you’re a big, afraid-of-the-dark scaredy cat.”
Mydei wants to be mad. But he can't. Because Phainon is half right.
Mydei thinks that the onslaught that crashes and rips his heart into pieces each time he closes his eyes and sleeps is downright terrifying.
Mydei struggles with himself. Someone helps, and coincidentally, also seems to feel the same way.

Who does this man think he is? Holding a gun to his own heart, parading the line between humanity and mania so haughtily, disregarding everyone and everything.
As Veritas stares into those dizzying eyes, he distantly thinks he is looking into a nothingness, a lightless void, a monochromatism, a pain so violent and whole that he cannot breathe.
People say that the eyes are the windows to the soul. But what if the eyes are just two dark holes; unfeeling, unseeing, unreachable?

Heizou sucked in a sharp breath of horror as he heard a snap, then felt a sudden wave of absolute loss. He stared at the lifeless thread, both ends pitifully floating to the ground, gradually losing their gradience to a dull gray, then to the scissors in his hand.
..Oh no...
Or.. Red threads of fate/ hanahaki where Heizou’s destined one is happy with his other half and Heizou decides to cut his own string to not get in the way. (A grave mistake, he assured)

Only one. Only one person had ever called him that with true sincerity.
He stared at the long, endless road ahead of him and couldn’t bring himself to look behind him. He had heard that voice too often in those four million and one cycles only to find they were nothing but delusions—of course. Of course. What else could they have been? What else could it be now? How could it be anything but his fractured mind trying to conjure some comfort he didn’t deserve in his final moments—
“You sure took your time getting here. Now you can’t even bring yourself to face me?”
After four million and one cycles, the very first Phainon finally passes the mantle of Khaslana onto the next Phainon. The Coreflames had both ravaged and sustained his body, and without them he crumbles to ash. When Amphoreus itself is a lie, the gentle West Wind and Sea of Flowers must be as well. So, that should be the end of his pitiful existence.
Instead, he wakes up in a library—Irontomb’s data archive of previous cycles. And there he reunites with the very first Mydei.

im crying... i know its supposed to be sweet but I can't help but feel a sort of bitterness in my soul that our darling deliverer had to go through immeasurable pain
And to reunite with his lover? In the Irontomb, a bank to keep all the coded data of themselves and Amphoreus, of all places, where their previous friends and chrysos heirs and all that they were fighting for is no where to be seen?!? It's SO bittersweet and melancholic and I LOVE IT SO MUCH but GOD does it make one feel things
