    "Bruce Wayne? Gotham’s golden prince, her favorite son. The tabloids joked that everyone knew everything about Wayne, which was usually far too much. He wasn’t simply an open book, rather having the pages highlighted and annotated for anyone to peruse. The man’s favorite artist was Britney Spears. He went on frequent skiing trips to Aspen. He had Calvin Klein ads that covered billboards and sex tapes leaked from his college days. Clark didn’t tend to follow celebrity scandals, but the man’s life, ever since he reentered the public eye, seems to have been made for spectacle...

    The first two days, Clark was completely and utterly convinced the universe had made a mistake. He wasn’t meant to have a soulmate in the first place, and there wasn’t a chance his words were connected to Wayne of all people. All he could do was mourn the soulmate he was supposed to have, the one he had expected, the person he was destined to save not as Superman, but as Clark Kent."

    On top of Hal's list of things he hates are three things: charity galas, Gotham and Batman. So of course he ends up dealing with all of those in one night, even if he doesn't technically know he ends up sleeping with that last one. He's never letting Carol drag him to rich people events ever again.

    In which Hal dates Bruce Wayne. Tells him he's Green Lantern. Breaks up with him. And then sort of dates Batman without knowing that he is in fact sleeping with Bruce Wayne again.
