Summary
The view’s not different when you think you’re right
And the lake is nothing but blue. The first mate of the Twinhooks loved the Lake of Endless Cycles most out of all of them. Not only did it bring in a ton of money, but it also gave him his precious pet mermaid. The deal with him was simple— Gregor would feed him all the fresh meat he could eat and mate with him all he wanted, and Heathcliff would stop eating his damn pirates. Of course, he wouldn’t get any closer than just sex. After all, you could never trust a monster.

Summary
He wanted to keep going like this, solving cases together, protecting people, gathering information. He wanted to keep waking up to that stupid ass alarm and getting dragged out of bed by Gregor, and having breakfast together before clocking in at separate offices only to meet right back up in about thirty minutes. Wanted to keep bantering with him, and taking the piss with each other, and having holiday parties for their coworkers at their house.
Wings, was he getting old?
(A normal day in the life of a happily married bodyguard and detective as they solve crimes. Then it gets interrupted by mirror shenanigans.)

Summary
"Oi, tinman. The... The shoes? W-Wait, you need to take those off—"
A haze. Twilight smog whirls around the corners of Meursault's vision—pink, palpitating. Unforgettable. It sends sparks into his vision; there's an icy sting in his fingers, a lump in his chest. The oppressive warmth that'd settled upon him filters the tingling rush of his circulation. Through a mesh of exhilaration, he knows his shoulders involuntarily bristle at the chill in the air. His breath frosts white for just a moment. Then, gone.
It is confusing—his emotions are never this intense, his pulse never races this hard. What does it mean to long? What does it mean to fall into desire? It means to let go, doesn't it? To surrender one's grasp to a familiar sense of blindness that melts your humanity into dust—until only your own rotten core, as imperceptible as a wilting flower in your flesh, remains.
This is what desire means. This is what he doesn't understand. What he avoids. Such emotions he represses to observe and note.
"...Heathcliff, may I ask a favor of you?"
Meursault gets entangled in rose-colored ribbons.
