Purposely, before Aonung could say a word, the omatikayan added, "Plus, why do you still insist on getting me to talk anyway?" Then, just because, he added jokingly, "Do you like me or something?"
Rather than reacting to the joke, Aonung replied to the omatikayan's other questions. "Like I said; no way you don't have stories to tell.
You came to our shores wearing your cummerbund. That garment alone tells a lot."
"Like what?"
"Like how you look as young as your younger brother, but already act so…" he paused, thoughtful, "…mature."
"I don't look that mature."
"Forest boy. I'm also 15 - yet I still act like a child."

A few years later, it shocked the metkayina boy greatly when the first thought he had, as he looked into a stern pair of eyes, was of how breathtaking the shade of gold that he could find there, along with the fire softly crackling behind them.
All he could think about was how he was an idiot.
An idiot for not asking his father what he should do if he ever found someone that he was willing to burn for.
or Aonung wanted Neteyam's eyes to be on him at all times, but he learnt from his father that the best way to grab attention was 'by pissing the 'person of interest' of.

He snapped his head around to see a slight flush on the firefighter’s cheeks, his hands shoved in his pockets. Forearms flexed deliciously as he removed a hand from his pocket to scrub nervously at the back of his neck. All that did was stretch the navy cotton tight around his chest, not hiding the firm build that resided beneath his shirt.
