Geralt glanced over at the dirty streak of snow that had been trampled through the tavern entrance, then over at the fire roaring invitingly in the hearth.
“I’m…inclined to agree with you,” he finally said.
“Really!? You want a cuddle!?”
Silence fell over the tavern as a few curious patrons turned their heads. Jaskier cleared his throat then leaned forward, lowering his voice. “You want a cuddle?” he repeated in a whisper.
“About taking the day off,” Geralt smiled.
“Shame.” Jaskier then patted Geralt’s glove and let his palm rest comfortably on top of it.

Or: Jaskier is desperate for Geralt to take the day off after a long week of witchering, but as always, nothing ever goes to plan.

“Curses don’t just leave of their own volition, Jaskier,” Geralt replied. “They’re lifted. And often certain criteria must be fulfilled in order to make that happen. If you don’t know what that criteria is, then it could last…" He paused. "...Well, it could last a lifetime.”
“Wh-!? Don’t say that, Geralt! I can’t live like this! Nobody would take me seriously ever again!”
“Nobody takes you seriously now.”

Geralt had to dip the corners of his mouth to hold back a smile. This wouldn’t go down well.
“Ah…I…You…! Servant!? I beg your pardon!?” Jaskier spluttered, his eyes so wide that his irises looked like two blue flies that had fallen into a cup of milk. “Do I look like a servant!?”

It wasn’t as though Jaskier was unfamiliar with Geralt’s smiles, but they tended to be brief and reactive—often at Jaskier’s own expense—and not indicative of an overall mood. Nevertheless, he seemed… pleased, perhaps too pleased. It was a little concerning.
“Hello, Geralt,” he said. “You look disconcertingly happy this evening. What is this? Are you having some sort of mid-life crisis?"
