Maes bursts into Roy’s office with all of his usual decorum— none to speak of.
“SURPRISE!” he yells, and Roy startles so badly that he nearly falls out of his chair. Maes has a bottle of champagne in one hand, two glasses in the other, and a grin on his face which only widens when Roy recovers from his shock to glare at him.
“Hughes,” Roy says, like he’s already lost his patience entirely despite Maes having just walked through the door. “How did you even get in here?”
Or five times that Maes either watches out for his drunk best friend or shares a drink with him, and one time he doesn't do either.

“What you're doing is murder,” Roy snapped. “And the only reason that I haven't already pulled this trigger is because I don't kill lightly. Unlike you.”
Scar stopped. When he spoke again, his voice sent chills down Roy's spine. “Oh? You mean to tell me that you aren't a murderer yourself? Hero of Ishval?”
Or the one where Roy is the one to cross paths with a vengeful Scar, instead of Edward. And Roy's limbs aren't made of metal.
