Katherine has cleaned up worse messes in the Haunted Hotel, but none that smell quite like this. After another of Esther’s “experiments” leaves Abaddon caked in dirt and dried blood, Katherine decides enough is enough — he’s getting a bath whether he likes it or not.
“You could at least look less offended,” she said after a moment.
“I’m a demon being washed by a human,” he murmured. “There’s no correct expression for that.”
She snorted. “Gratitude would do.”
