Summary
He would rather stick his fingers in a wall socket than hurt or upset her, ever. He keeps waiting for this love to start hurting the way he knows all love hurts at some point down the road. But he’s loved her for years and here they are. Tentatively, timidly, his soul is still reaching for hers, asking it to soothe old hurts and pain. He doesn’t know how he’s ever going to be able to be enough, but he’ll try, he’ll try. And hope that eventually, maybe, one day he will deserve her, if he just tries hard enough.
In which Mulder learns what it truly means to be a whole person to someone.

Summary
Some people get marriage proposals, vows of eternal love. Mulder and Scully get forever threatened grimly, at the cost of everything else they’ve ever known or loved, in the back of a stranger-danger van ferrying them to an undisclosed location.
After Mulder and Scully's investigation of a Wiccan farm and retreat center reveals that a series of "ritual murders" were in fact committed by an organized crime ring, they're forced to go first into hiding under FBI protection and then into the federal witness protection program. An exploration of how they grieve, adjust to living together, heal, and slowly begin to build a new life.

Summary
In a universe parallel to the recorded version, Mulder returns from his abduction to find only three months have passed and Scully is four months pregnant(instead of 7). Scully is torn, needing him, unable to resist the magnetic qualities of their impenetrable bond, but hesitant. Meanwhile, Mulder already dove off the cliff into the deep end, is doing the backstroke, and waving her in. What will happen next for MSR? What will be different from the original now that Mulder will be there for most of the pregnancy? What will it be like not to give up their child for adoption? What will it look like to have Mulder solving X-Files with Scully, hand-in-hand during seasons 8 and 9?
