They stared at each other for an endless moment that didn’t feel awkward or rushed. Finally, Anna exhaled sharply and wiggled over to his side of the bed, pressing her face into his chest and pulling herself close. She felt him release a tight breath too, and squeeze her back, breathing into her hair. But he feels exactly right.”Connor knows what he likes, but it isn’t always himself. When he meets Anna, they come together so easily that he can’t believe she hasn’t made a horrible mistake.
After a false start, they get one weekend together. Anna isn’t just into it, she seems to love all the things Connor is self-conscious about—especially the belly thing, the food thing.
He falls hard, fast, and deep… and should be happy about it, but on Monday, she’s getting on a plane for her 5,000 mile flight home. He can’t even bear to think about that.
