Jimmy, for the last minutes, was sat by himself at the edge of the raft—used to the constant requests of ‘get out of the way, Jimmy’, and ‘do you really need to stand here for this, Tim?’. He wasn't deaf to the ‘why did we drag him here, again?’. It was just time before Grian noticed his ostracism.
“Jimmy’s daydreaming?” fWhip chanted from the opposite side.
“When’s he not?” Grian giggled.

Grians heart was beating out of his chest, beating against their rips.
He was there.
He was alive and well and sitting across the table from them intact.
He was laughing and making jokes with Impulse and Pearl like he wasn't choking on his own blood just last night.

.Grian works at a library, restocking shelves and signing out books. His late nights are fulled with friends and horrible horror movies.
Other mornings are fulled cooking, the smell of cooking meat fulling up the apartment with songs on in the background. Late nights are spent watching gory dark web videos or hunting out on the streets looking for a meal.
All in all, Grians just a normal guy, living his life just how anyone else would. It definitely doesn't eat people or have a strange, unnatural interest in gore and blood. Hes just like anyone else, just like any other guy who works at a library and hangs out with friends.

The soulmate pairs have run the gamut from acceptance to denial, but then there’s Pearl, who’s doing something else entirely. Scott wonders if she could feel it when Jimmy kissed him, if Tango could feel it. He’ll have to go lie down in the powdered snow for a while later, to remind her that he’s not enjoying any of this any more than she is.

Gem is the youngest of her siblings (Joel, Scott, and Cleo) and the fourth in line for the throne of Ebbin. After earning her knighthood, she goes out with a group of knights (Impulse, Jimmy, Scar, Squire Bdubs, and Mage Tango) adventuring. On these adventures Gem goes by the name Taylor, when not in Ebbin, and with a little help of some magic, she is perceived as guy in the kingdoms that have made it against the law for a woman to be a knight. The latest adventure was defeating a dragon that was tormenting both the Kingdom of Ebbin and Cidagor. The King of Cidagor hears of the victory and summons the crew to receive the reward he had put out. His Eldest son (Grian) sees that Gem would be a better match for his sister (Pearl) than who his father currently has planned for her, so with the help of his advisor (Mumbo) they convince his father to bestow Pearl as the reward to Gem for making the killing blow.
TLDR Gem is fucked and needs to keep everyone believing Shes a guy. With the help of her crew, she might just be able to pull it off.
