She didn’t know if her racing heart came from being in a cramped pantry with her crush, or the fact a beating heart other than her own was so close that she could hear it pumping blood. Maybe it was a combination of those two facts.
“Hi.” A nervous chuckle accompanied her greeting because wow Calliope’s eyes were piercing up close.
A beat passed. Juliette cursed herself for somehow making the situation even more awkward, even though she doubted there was such a thing as a good icebreaker in this situation. She took some solace in the fact saying ‘Do you kiss girls in pantries a lot?’ would have been far worse.
