Jill walked up to Carlos and wrapped her arms around waist, snuggling up to him as he pulled her closer. “Thanks - again - for everything you’ve done for me over the past week or so.” Jill fell silent for a while, just relishing the brief moment of peace she would always find leaning against Carlos. “We’ll meet again. And if you ever change your mind about joining forces with us, I’ll make sure everybody welcomes you with open arms.”
Carlos and Jill say goodbye about a week after the Raccoon City incident. Four years later, they reunite.

They had been friends for quite a long time already, but it had always been difficult for them to stay in touch as much as they wanted to, as Carlos felt forced to endlessly wander the Americas to avoid getting captured by those who had wanted him dead over the years.
Now, after the Raccoon City incident, he shows up at her doorstep again, completely shattered, because he needs her to help him figure out what to do next, even if that might put her life in danger, too.
