Just as Curt is starting to accept the fact he’ll have to return to Cynthia with the mission having been severely fucked, Owen is in front of him.
“Do you trust me?” Owen asked and Curt looked up at him. Owen is staring down at him intensely.
“No,” Curt deadpanned, lying through his teeth.
“Well trust me now, okay?” Owen asked, and he’s holding Curt by the shoulders, he never even noticed the other had grabbed him. The guards are getting closer and Curt has no idea what Owen is planning but dammit the other could use him as a human shield and Curt would let him.
So he nodded.

Agent Curt Mega is on a mission to intercept nuclear plans, an easy mission he would say so, as long as he didn't get distracted.
Unfortunately, or maybe rather very fortunately, Owen Carvour has crashed his mission.

Slowly, Curt smiles, eyes still slightly widened. "Thank you."
"Hm, well." You need to take better care of yourself. I worry about you. I don't want you going hungry on missions. "Someone needs to keep you humble."
Or, 5 times Owen couldn't find the right words, and 1 time Curt didn't need him to.

Sparring had also become a part of their routine. It kept them ready, reaction times quickening, they learned each other's fighting styles in hand-to-hand combat, something that would likely never be used, but any practice was good.
Curt would win, usually. Owen would fall to the floor with his hands up in defeat, and Curt would grab his hand and boast about his victory. It boosted his ego, yes, but it was fun to watch Curt succeed, despite Owen’s own failure. He could generally hide disappointment in losing better than Curt could.

Curt hooks his arms around Owen’s waist, dragging him in close. “What are you doing here, anyway?” He says, throwing out a winning smile—the same one that gets girls to fall over themselves to greet him, that makes Owen roll his eyes and sigh as Curt ropes him into another stupid decision. “Did I beat you to those weapon blueprints, Carvour?”
The searching look disappears. Owen gives a haughty little scoff, but it’s not as infuriating as it should be, not when he’s holding Curt, here. “As if you could.”
“Oh, so you’ve just been lurking around weapon facilities in the Soviet Union for shits and giggles?”
Something flashes behind Owen’s eyes. So fast Curt almost misses it. Owen’s gaze cuts away before Curt can search further. “Maybe so. It’s not like you ever see me on my offtime, love.”
