“Thanatos?” Zagreus’ brow furrows in confusion, and the worry on his face makes the butterflies in Thanatos’ stomach launch a violently militarised assault on his insides. Thanatos suddenly finds himself feeling quite strongly, and entirely against his will, that nothing should ever be permitted to make Zagreus unhappy; he wants to reach out and smooth the lines marring the otherwise flawless expanse of his forehead, wants to lay a soft kiss on the delicate curve of his perfect brow ridge, wants to cradle him gently in loving arms until his expression reverts to its contentedly gormless default.
“I wish I was mortal so that I could kill myself,” Thanatos says, fervently and with great feeling.

Summary
Achilles cannot imagine what this prince from the surface might be like. Raised by Demeter! A young god with his father’s wrath and his mother’s impetuousness, fuelled by his grandmother’s calculated spite. He thinks of the swathes of dead that disembark Charon’s ferry still shivering and huddled together as though their shades could hold warmth.
Perhaps the Zagreus who has grown up with cold eternal is as icy and cruel as Demeter herself. Perhaps he will bring nothing but strife. Olympian history is full of sons overthrowing their fathers, after all.

Summary
Thanatos' heart lies outside his body.
Styx takes Zagreus’ pieces from Thanatos’ grasp and makes him whole once more. It takes longer than he thinks it ought, for flesh to knit and soul to settle into its place; for the woven multicolored thread of Zagreus’ life to be re-spun, knotted over like scar tissue, and the next first beat of Zagreus’ heart to resound in Thanatos’ breast.

Summary
Stories about Thanatos and Zagreus as they find their way through life. Angst, pining, sweetness and smut with generous helpings of character growth and a side of Greek myth.
I view each story as happening loosely within the same 'universe', so they read well together, but they can also be read as stand-alone fics. I also see them as happening in the same 'universe' as the of war and death series. ^_^
