Viktor leans closer—too close—bumping their shoulders together. "A little weird?" he parrots, raising his chin to meet Jayce's eyes. "How so? Enlighten me, Talis. Your diagnostics are always . . . thorough."
"Drunk," Jayce deadpans. "You're drunk, Viktor."
At an after-party, Viktor drinks a little too much. Jayce helps him home, not expecting a confession.

Summary
Kotetsu can understand liking your leafy greens, even if he doesn’t quite indulge in that part of the food pyramid as much as he should (at least according to his mother – Kotetsu thinks that peas, carrots, and onions in his fried rice should count for something). Still, he wouldn’t really consider flowers a “vegetable”.
Maybe it’s because they’re called honeysuckles? Could they be sweet?
Kotetsu gets afflicted with by a NEXT ability causing him to eat flowers. A reverse hanahaki story.

Summary
Kotetsu grimaces at the sweat rolling down into the small of his back as he trudges through the open entrance onto their truck, grateful for the cool air waiting within.
Glancing back towards the doorway, he watches through it as his partner gives one last wave and smile to the small crowd of press & onlookers, but the second he’s turned away from them, the smile evaporates off of Barnaby’s face.
Seeing his partner’s expression fall sucks the air right out of Kotetsu.
He’s going to hear it for sure.

Summary
Three things then happen in short succession:
1) Barnaby realizes what he just blurted out and matches Kotetsu’s wide-eyed stare with his own frenzied gaze.
2) Kotetsu’s grip on his wine glass slackens and drops it, where it rolls off the table to fall to the floor, the glass breaking into pieces and spilling wine all over Kotetsu’s dining room table and floor.
3) Desperate to cling to any life preserver to save himself from the deadly riptide he's caught himself in by his impromptu confession, Barnaby shoots to his feet, eyes fixed on the spill.
"That's going to stain!" he shouts, much too loud, and even as Kotetsu begins to mumble some sort of excuse, Barnaby is running to Kotetsu’s bathroom for a towel and definitely, definitely isn't thinking about how he just ruined everything.
