Summary
Half a year after things were settled in the Never realm, Zane has now overcome some of his trauma and guilt, thanks to his friends. There is still some anxiety, but judging that his condition has stabilized, he says he will be put back into their ninja mission, but his friends say to rest more. So Zane has no choice but to go on patrol. Early morning, going around Ninja City as usual, he finds a man who has fallen from a familiar-colored portal.

As he continues to struggle against the scroll’s influence, Zane is now tasked with caring for an abandoned child while simultaneously searching for a way home. However, there’s more to Vex than meets the eye and he’s willing to do whatever it takes to remain by Zane’s side, no matter the cost.
A reimagining of the ice chapter where Zane is corrupted slower and encounters Vex sooner.

Summary
It all starts with plans for Lloyd’s birthday, a fancy dinner and a detective game staged by Pixal and Zane. There’s not much that could go wrong, right? Zane is, admittedly, a bit distracted by the fact that his girlfriend looks utterly gorgeous that evening; but it shouldn’t matter, because they’re not on a mission, it’s just a relaxed night out and great fun.
Until it isn’t anymore. The two nindroids suddenly find themselves in the middle of a street fight, and the whole team sets out to investigate. Zane has no doubt that sooner or later, they will find out the true reason behind the series of attacks. What he didn't expect was a serious disagreement between him and Pixal, he didn't expect the girls to play a lone hand, and he certainly didn't expect to be painfully reminded of his own worst trauma ...Series

and with his entire body burning up in pain.
Zane laid there at the bottom of the canyon, somehow managing to drag down Mr.E with him, who no doubt was just as bad in a condition as him probably.
To say their fight was intense was an understatement, it might have very well been the hardest "one on one" fights Zane's had in his entire life.
2 nindroids, both matched almost equally at everything.
