    Laying on his death bed, in the last homely home of the elves, the Valar visit Bilbo. Something went wrong, Frodo and Sam failed their task. Bilbo has been charged with going back, back to the very beginning. He is being sent back to his twenty fifth year of age.

    Bilbo: dies, time-travels, becomes Mandos’ favorite, pranks half of Rivendell, turns pirate, saves the Nazgûl, and learns combat from Glorfindel.
    Gandalf: “What do you mean Belladonna isn’t dead?”
    Thorin: “Why is our hobbit terrifying and why is that attractive?”
    Nori: “Honey, I’m home!”

    A fix-it where Bilbo is competent and everyone else is confused.

    Everytime he caught Thorin’s gaze, he felt his heart burst with love. The smile on Thorin’s face was something he would never forget. A smile that was so bright, Bilbo was sure it could melt pure ice- the smile of Durin himself, though it was a rare sight to see on Thorin Oakenshield.

    But after the excitement, there was the void.

    Bilbo closed his eyes, again, focusing on digging his fingers into the muscle of his leg, as well as he could.

    The Valar send Bilbo back in time. He has changed the course of history, and those who had lived have died, and those who were supposed to die live. How will Bilbo navigate through this new, uncertain future to ensure his mission succeeds- For Thorin to live and for Frodo to smile?

    Summary

    Bilbo Took-Baggins and Nori of the Ri clan were married---platonically as they'd tell you---out of convenience many moons ago. Now, happily divorced and still best friends with his ex-husband, Bilbo decides he wants to help Nori on the quest to Erebor.

    Bilbo is an ex-bounder, Nori spends half his time in the Shire, Thorin has tunnel vision, and the author doesn't know how to write summaries.

    “And no healthy individual wants to learn how to sneak around and steal rich men's shittily-made coins, so I’d go as far as to say that you already weren’t right in the head.”

    Bilbo finally pulls himself to his feet, planting them sturdily beneath him so he doesn’t start tripping around like a drunken Sackville in front of his new instructor.
    “Keep talking like that and I’ll divorce you,” he tries to threaten, but it falls flat he infers from Nori’s near bellow of a laugh.

    “I think we’re going to get along fine, Master Baggins.”
