Summary
Lori was only a pile of cells inside Lena's uterus when Kara decided she was going to write letters for her baby in case something happened to her. Each birthday one letter.
And something did happen. One day, to protect her family and everyone she loved, Supergirl sacrificed herself. Lori was only one.
Since then, every birthday of hers she would get a letter.
When she turned two, in the letter, Kara told one her favourite childhood stories and in the end, there was a small flash drive where she sang a Kryptonian lullaby. Ever since, Lori and Lena wouldn't be able to sleep without it.
When she turned three, the letter had Kara's favourite fairytale. And so on.
On her eighteenth birthday it was different. It was a video, instead of a letter. After the video ended Lori left flying as fast as she could, not caring about where she was going or what was happening.
And then it happened. The weather was suddenly colder, the sounds were different and there was something off. She landed on a side road and was almost ran over.
"Oh Ra- God, oh my God." Kara was standing right in front of her. She couldn't believe it.

They stay that way for a long time, Catra’s face tucked into Adora’s shoulder, Adora gently cradling Catra’s head. Adora is careful not to hug Catra too hard or make her feel restrained, anticipating the moment that Catra will start to pull away — but Catra doesn’t. She hangs on so tightly it hurts, her claws digging through Adora’s jacket and into her back, latching into her like she did when she was a kitten and didn’t know how much her claws could hurt. Adora tries not to wince, tries not to move a single muscle, worried that if she does the spell will break and Catra will struggle away, appalled at having shown weakness.
But Catra doesn’t let go. And so neither does Adora.

Summary
For those of you that have read the first chapter of "I Need A Girl Like You," you are going to realize that the first chapter of that story and the first chapter of this one are exactly the same. When I wrote this chapter, I hadn't yet decided if I wanted to be Alex x Lena endgame or Alex x Sam endgame. I realized after posting it with the Alex x Sam endgame version that there are many people who want more Alex x Lena. So, I've decided to follow my original plan and write two different versions of the same story with one being an Alex x Lena endgame and one being Alex x Sam. If you are reading both, I hope this isn't confusing.
For this story, here is the summary: When Sam and Ruby leaves, Alex is devastated. Her sadness over the breakup and Lena's sadness over her break up with James lead the two of them together in an unlikely friendship that turns out to be so much more than that. When Sam returns six months later, the status and future of their relationship gets called into question, Alex unsure if she should follow what she now wants or what she wanted so bad six months ago.
