Summary
Steve Rogers woke up in the 21st century, fought some aliens, and saved New York. Now, with the Avengers Initiative officially a go, he finds himself living in Howard's kid's tower with the rest of earth's mightiest heroes. Tony's fast-talking, Clint's pranks, and Thor's appearances from Asgard would be a hard enough adjustment, if Steve wasn't already dealing with the loss of everything and everyone he loved. Convinced he will lose his role as Captain America (the one thing left) if he acknowledges the nightmares and panic attacks, Steve attempts to hide the symptoms of his PTSD. Only some things can't stay hidden forever.

Tony had adjusted to parenthood quickly when Morgan came along, and was always conscious of making sure Peter isn't left out ... Almost always.
When Peter gets hurt while taking care of Morgan, Tony obsess over his daughter and takes his anger out on Peter, without even checking to see if he was okay. Steve finds Peter later that night in serious pain and in need of immediate medical attention.Or, Peter gets hurt while taking care of Morgan and Tony basically ignores him.

He almost doesn’t see her hand move before it clips the back of his head with enough force to send ringing through his ear for a second. “Just… try to not be a complete embarrassment.”
He follows after her, a dog with its tail tucked. Makes sure he follows close, smiling when he should, socializing where he should, never stepping away from Sharon. By the end of the night everything hurts, he feels like a puppet with tangled strings. But she gives him an appraising look and says “that wasn’t so hard, now was it?” And the relief nearly knocks his legs out from under him, his brain fuzzes out, she’s happy.
