It is so distinctly not-Ruby that for a disturbingly long second, you are not sure if you are actually looking at Ruby. (An illusion?) Then, she reaches for the teacup in front of her (on the floor?) and begins to drink. You stand still. (What?)
(Are those bruises?)
(Is that blood on her hands?)
(Where did that come from?)
(Whose blood?)
Turns out, that wasn’t the part you should have been worried about.

Ruby Rose is constantly travelling for her work, jumping from country to country and city to city, and it's a free life that she loves, with nothing holding her down and nothing ahead of her except flying through blue skies and adventure everywhere she lands.
But when she spends a night with fellow globe-trotter, the corporate heiress Weiss Schnee, and the two agree to spend more no-strings nights together if they're ever in the same place at the same time, the stars (and their schedules) seem to align to test whether or not Ruby's 'nothing tying me down' life philosophy can survive once you start to grow fond of the warmth of someone's company, and then feel the pain of their absence.

Summary
A couple of years have past since the end of the war against Salem. They have all been healing slowly, some slower than others. They are all revered as heroes but they are still haunted by the events that befell them at such young ages. Especially the thing that have occurred to one especially young leader after getting sent to another world. All of team RWBY have fought monsters worse than in their nightmares but none of it could evoke the fear that a simple teacup could. Thank goodness they have each other to help heal from their greatest failure. So when Weiss breaksdown in the kitchen of their shared home her teammates and especially her partner come in to help.
