For Chan, his members were everything. He moved to Korea when he was 13 years old to follow his dream of becoming an idol, leaving behind everything he had in Australia. So when his group debuted, he made them his family without even realizing it. He cared for them deeply and would have done anything to keep them safe and happy.
So he always made sure Jisung was feeling alright before stepping on stage.
He made sure Hyunjin felt confident about his voice.
He made sure Minho wasn’t bottling up too much pain.
He made sure Changbin wasn’t overworking himself.
He made sure Felix always ate something.
He made sure Jeongin always felt good about his body.
He made sure Seungmin never doubted his abilities.But he never made sure he was feeling alright. He never checked if he was keeping pain inside, if he was overworking himself, if he was eating enough.

Something in Seungmin’s gut told him he was forgetting a very important detail, but he shoved that aside to try and find his phone. Clearly, he was in a car crash – that much was obvious – and he needed to call for help, call Jisung, someone. He can’t let Jisung worry about him, and can’t just wither away on the side of the street. He refused to die in such a shitty way as that.

"Take care, Chan," Minho lifts a hand up in farewell.
"You too, both of you. Good luck tomorrow and stay safe."
"We always do," Seungmin jokes, but Chan's smile falters. It's a slight thing, but Seungmin's trained to notice the smallest changes in facial expressions. The uneasy feeling from earlier bubbles in his stomach, dark and heavy.
A warm hand places itself on his shoulder and squeezes. Seungmin lets Minho steer him out with his hand that slides to rest on the small of his back.
Seungmin has a mission to worry about right now. He can't afford to waver.
