Summary
Sci-fi romance set a couple hundred years in the future in a dictatorship city with genetically engineered bioluminescent plants. The plot is centred around the main male / male romance and deals with trauma including SA and domestic violence. A hopeful story about finding yourself, working through trauma, falling in love when you don't feel capable, learning to build a life for yourself, finding comfort in companionship and friendship, letting other people love you and learning to love yourself when you feel broken. This is an original work but if you liked All For The Game, The Raven Cycle and Six of Crows you might also like this.

Adam blinked at him, momentarily confused, before remembering that Ronan used to go to tennis practice twice a week, every week. He used to play competitively. And then his dad died, and he’d stopped going to classes at all, and tennis practice apparently constituted a class.
Ronan took the racket like it was venomous, rolling over and over in his hand, testing the weight, “This isn’t tennis. This is like if a tennis ball fucked a a beanpole and they got up the duff.”
Adam raised his eyebrows, “Very visual, Lynch.”
Ronan sneered at him, “Come on, then, big guy. I challenge you to a swingball contest.”
