You’ve heard many stories about how people met their soulmates. Everyone crazier than the last, ranging from typical meet cutes, meeting with one of them at death's door, in war, meeting at your soulmate's wedding to another, and everything in between and outside of that.
You had just never expected to add yours to the crazy list, meeting yours in a fight, only realizing after trying to kill each other for several minutes.

Summary
When He emerged, confused after burning up under the Sun, a voice called out to him. She guided him, provided a purpose to make him feel needed again. All Visitors were given the task of eradicating humanity.
The 'why' and the 'how' never mattered to him. Corpses after corpses were left in his wake in bloody pieces. He followed his duties with absolute loyalty, until one day his mission abruptly changed. A vision of your face and your isolated little house were shown to him. He was told not to kill this time, but to set you free and change something. It enraged him. Why would Death favor this one man and not the rest? A rather vague order, he thought.
The first time, he came to your house with the intention of killing you out of spite, but when you answered him with no fear in your voice, he was intrigued.
He decided to let you live that night. The more he thought about it, the less he understood. What is he meant to change? He came back again and again and you always managed to abide by the rules he set for you. You even survived his little games. He's gotten thoroughly attracted to your mystery. Now, he's open to let things play out on a different path and see what's so special about you, up close.

(A fic where homeowner begrudgingly nurses an injured visitor back to health. two idiots are obliviously taking place as the parents of the adopted child. Whoops.)
