Wincing, Leo’s gaze shifts over to his youngest brother who’s now curled up on the floor with Raph’s head in his lap and their father is at their side. He meets Splinter’s eyes and looks down at the sight of his sword in his tiny hand. He wants to laugh, how fitting. He sends Splinter a single nod and braces himself for the inevitable — but then; he hears Shredder snarling above him — and his world goes straight to hell.
The Shredder presses his foot down harder onto Leo’s shell, his sharp talons scratching the surface, and then there’s a sickening sound that echoes.

Out of sheer curiosity, Leonardo and Donatello looked up, and there it was.
A portal.
Had the Universe really taken pity on them? Had it really heard his desperate prayers for one more chance?
It was not like the ones they had seen before, it was an irregular circle made up of several shades of blue, completely different from the perfect and symmetrical pink triangles of the Kraang.
Leonardo and Donatello looked into each other's eyes for a few moments, "Should we go in?" Donatello asked, almost shouting, drawing the attention of the others, who quickly turned to the portal and to see each other, then the two brothers in question.
"It's our best bet, and our only chance," replied Leonardo.
Or rather, with the 2012 kids' home gone, they end up in the Rise verse after a strange portal shows up. Therapy is needed, and start the slow process of healing from their trauma.

5 years after the escape from Baron Draxum, Splinter and his four turtle sons are living in the sewers. With one giant 7 year old, 2 chaotic 6 years, and an heart on his sleeve 5 year old the family is trying to find a bigger home for them to grow up in. So when the family tries to set down roots in a new area of the sewers is when tragedy strikes. Swept away by a flood, one turtle is gone. The only piece left behind of him are the memories and the piece of his shell.
Or so what is thought...
Found at the docks of the Hidden City, a young turtle Yokia is found. It wasn’t until several months later when the young turtle yokia awoke from his coma to only find out he remembers almost nothing. No name, no records, nothing. The only things he has with his is a rugged blue bandana and the fragments of broken memories with him.
