It took Add three dimensions to realise he was looking for some kind of affection. In that third dimension, he knelt on smooth Hamel stone with silver arms pinning him as Raven breathed another name into the curve of his spine, so maybe it's not his brain that's the problem but his (oh so skewed) judgement.
He's no stranger to heartbreak. The crushing weight on his chest was familiar, where the whisper of a dead name sighed with a reverence that could never be his is still tattooed into his bones. It followed him even after he shattered the Water Eldrit and opened the door to another dimension.

Zanka is tasked with keeping Jabber from running too wild in his new position with the cleaners. Jabber is a ball of excess manic energy. Daily fights are a little unsustainable when there are trash beasts to be defeated on a moment’s notice.
And since their relationship has been evolving, it's a no brainer. Jabber is a masochist. Zanka has a dominant streak. Easy peasy. It shouldn’t be too different from all the times before.
Except, as usual, Zanka is a fucking wild card. Sex never felt hazy or vulnerable like this with any of the strangers that make up Jabber’s sexual history. Jabber is used to pain, but treated with roughness and care in equal measure is new and very disarming.

Occtis is still holding his head up high, but now that they’re in better lighting, Julien realizes he looks a bit unsteady. Nonetheless, the boy's voice is steadfast. “I have some work I need to get done this evening. If you want to stay in this stupid room while that happens, I can’t stop you, but I expect you to be polite about it.”
Deciding the unsteadiness is only to be expected, Julien tries to muddle past it. “What kind of work?”
Occtis’s jaw goes tight. “I… have to start making some adjustments, or else I won’t ‘heal’ properly. Is that going to be a problem for you?”
Julien doesn’t know what he’s supposed to respond to that, so he defaults to setting some parameters. “There’s a sorry excuse for a curtain that you may use as a partition if you desire. I’ll take this bed; that side of the room is all yours to do as you see fit.”
Occtis just stares at him. “You’re… fine with this?”
Julien rolls his eyes. “Yes. I am extremely fucking fine with everything that is happening. Everything is extremely fucking great with me.” He flops down on the nearer of the two beds. “Do what you must.”
“Thank you for being so kind.”
