Summary
The crane had a failsafe — and upon the glass breaking instantly released. Tim felt weightless when his arms were free from strain, but relief was fleeting — three seconds until he became nothing but a smear of red on the ground. He closed his eyes and braced himself for impact, but it never came.
Instead he was knocked unconscious as Red Hood grabbed him midair, momentum swinging them to the wall where his grappling hook was planted. He attempted to shield Tim’s body with his own at the impact of the swing, to no avail as the younger’s head gave a sharp crack against concrete despite gloved hand shielding it.

Summary
Tim was completely still, staring up at Dick with a kind of steely determination that was completely out of place on his young face. “You’re his brother. I thought that if there was anyone who loved him like that, it would be you.”
Dick tried to swallow, but his mouth and throat were completely dry. “It doesn’t matter,” he said hoarsely. “You can love someone to the stars and back, and it doesn’t mean you get to keep them.”
Love alone wasn’t enough, had never been enough, would never be enough. If it were, then Dick wouldn’t have had to be dragged away, kicking and screaming, from every great loss of his life. If it were, then all of Dick’s howling grief would have meant something.

There’s an entrance to the underworld beneath Gotham City. Tim is certain that the only way to stop Batman’s rampage is to give Bruce his son back. Dick just wants a second chance with his brother. It's an old song.

Summary
Tim closes his eyes, calculating. Based on the energy involved for a one week reset, he’s looking at a minimum displacement of about five years for the copy. His eyes sting as he fully grasps that if this works, one Tim will get to reunite with his friends and family, hold them and speak to them again, and work together to unleash all the contingencies and strategies he’s come up with to kick those invading alien assholes the fuck out, and the other Tim, the copy… won’t. He’ll wake up somewhen, isolated and traumatized, without friends, family, or any allies at all.
Well, shit. Whatever, at least Other Tim will know it worked. And he’s never minded the idea of sacrificing himself to save others. He confirms the calibration of the device, and pushes the big red button. Of fucking course there’s a big red button, supervillains are so predictable.
His last thought as the lights explode in his head and he tastes color is I hope computers are a thing whenever Other Tim lands. I’d hate to be put on trial for witchcraft. Fuck it, if I overshoot I’m gonna ride a goddamn dinosaur. Hell. Yes.
