Summary
Tim lets out a breath and sits down at his own desk. He tries to release the tension from his muscles, but he finds he can’t relax. He’s still too keyed up. He’s worried about Martin, but that’s out of his hands now. Martin’s been lovely over the past few days, after the initial hiccup, and Tim hasn’t let himself think about it, but he misses Jon. It’s a hollow feeling in his chest, knowing that Jon is out there, but not knowing where he is, or even if he’s okay.
It’s the smallest, most insignificant things that make Tim’s chest ache. (God, he’s yearning, like some mediocre teenaged poet.) He misses smelling Jon’s hair as he holds him at night, misses having coffee ready when he gets out of the shower because Jon made it...
His phone pings, and Tim allows it to pull him out of his yearning. He boxes all of those feelings back up. It’s not going to help, no use dwelling on this, because Jon will still be gone either way. He sighs, and he checks his phone. It’s a text from an unknown number. His breath catches in his throat as he reads it.

Summary
Charlie lingers in the locker room long after all the other boys have left, almost as if he doesn’t want any of them to see where he’s going, and that more than anything convinces Nick that he’s got to do something to find out what’s wrong. So when Nick leaves the locker room, he turns a corner and then hovers there, waiting to see which direction Charlie goes.
He’s not sure what he’s expecting—maybe that Charlie’s sneaking off to see Ben again? But Charlie doesn’t meet up with Ben. He doesn’t meet up with anyone. Instead, he ducks into a broom cupboard and emerges five minutes later in pajamas with a rucksack slung over his shoulders and what looks like a sleeping bag tucked under his arm.
Nick comes out from around the corner. “Charlie? What are you doing?”
