B-127 has always heard voices. Well, that’s not true. At all. He only started hearing them while he was down on sub-level 50, and even then, it took a few cycles. Being alone for so long will give you some weird mental stuff. The thing is, B used to think the voices were just hallucinations, but they haven’t gone away. Actually, they got louder after he got his cog. And he’s pretty sure hallucinations can’t give real-time commentary on the stuff he’s seeing. Maybe. Probably.

B-127 is of the opinion that human curse words are better at expressing emotion than cybertronian ones usually are. Yes, you can’t beat a good “Frag yourself straight into the slag pit, you half melted aft pipe,” but the word “Fuck” is just, it hits different, you know?

Summary
The power fluctuated, lights going out. Phil was lying on the floor, staring at the ceiling, but his eyes might as well have been closed. The darkness was so complete it was like it clasped its fingers in his, breathed through his throat-- and then, slowly, he became aware of a shift on the other side of the glass. Faint, distant movement. A soft pulse of light, pinkish-red mingled with off-white, gentle bioluminescent flickers in the engulfing blackness. Fear twisted so far around that it turned to wonder.
He thought the lights were multiple creatures close together, at first. Then the emergency lights hummed back on, and the lights on the other side suddenly resolved into a being, a huge one with a long snaking tail and brightness down its side and shoulders and flowing hair and was that a goddamn fucking mer--
The mer reeled back and disappeared into the gloom. Phil stared after it and said blankly, forgetting it was only a plush crow listening: "What the actual fuck."

Rouge never put much thought into the whole 'resistance' thing. If the state of the world was anything to go by, they clearly weren't doing well. But when a young squad foils her own plans by crashing through the door to Eggman's base, she figures it might finally be worth learning what all the fuss is about.
Turns out, they're worse off than she thought, not the horse you'd back if you wanted to make it out on top, but they do have one thing that might make joining them worth her while.
