Nobody realizes what Aemond had done. None of the guards are saying anything about the grave injustice that had been done. His grandmother starts shouting at Uncle Aegon for being absent in the fight and Aemond starts flinging the accusation of being attacked for no reason. Rhaena and Baela are quick to scream at him from their grandparent’s arms.
“Luke, what’s wrong?” His mother looks at him with so much worry. She doesn’t know and nobody will say it.

The dragon lowers down to the sea and Rhaenyra is awed as Vhagar lightly touches the water with her claws. The water sprays across her face for a few moments till Vhagar ascends.
The situation dawns on Rhaenyra as Vhagar levels out. She’s riding the oldest and most powerful dragon in the world. The wind whips past her as she glances down at the sea below and to the sky above them. Rhaenyra loosens her grip and posture.
A delighted laugh escapes her as they soar.

The vampire looked down slowly at the mess on her clothes, then back up.Rumi’s heart slammed against her ribs like it wanted out.
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me,” the girl said, her voice cold and flat.
Rumi stepped forward without thinking, pressing the flimsy paper napkin against the slick black leather covered in her lunch.
“I—I’m so sorry,” she stammered, every syllable tripping over the last. “I didn’t mean—I wasn’t looking and—”
“You didn’t mean to walk straight?” the vampire snapped, voice slicing clean through her apology. “Or use eyes that work?”
Up close, the vampire’s presence hit like a cold front.
Terrifying, her instincts offered.
Beautiful, her brain added unhelpfully.
And here she was… rubbing at her chest.
The motion was clumsy and awkward—her brain screaming at her to help clean while her hands were busy doing exactly the kind of contact you’d never want to initiate with a stranger.
