Summary
After Emily and Nicole's double suicide attempt in remedial english class, the environment of the school changed for everyone. The guys feel more confident without those two around, everyone stopped pretending with each other, there was no point in pretending when the truth was clear as day. Karen never thought she'd feel bad for anyone at her high school, especially not the school's adderal dealer. Jecka never thought she'd be so close to losing yet another person she cared about in her life. Everyone is trying to process what happened in their own way, and sometimes, their ways of coping hurt each other.

No one predicted Nicole's death, they all thought therapy was working and she would eventually be okay. They learned to be more aware, check in on people, and not just assume everything would be okay without trying to fix it. That's what they were supposed to learn.
Jecka's death was just as preventable as Nicole's, if someone watched, if someone paid attention and cared, she could've been saved too, right?

Muu always loved her birthday, it was the day everyone had their eyes on her. She enjoyed the attention, the gifts, the adoration, it was her favorite day of the year. This year, it didn't feel as special as years past, it felt somewhat numb, dull even. No one to shower her with wealth, no affection from her parents, and she didn't have much of anything besides Haruka. Money could cover up her problems, but without it now, she couldn't push aside her bitter memories of a better life.

Nicole was poisonous. Nicole was dangerous. Jecka was her antidote. Without that antidote, the poison contaminated everything good, and she has to find alternate ways to stop the contamination, the contamination from the poison that runs through her veins.
