The first time Will had been possessed, it had made itself apparent immediately.
It had literally ripped the air from his lungs, choked him with its presence as it fought its way into gaining control of his body.
This is probably why, as he desperately sought shelter from the completely average Indiana summer heat, feeling as if his flesh was being torn away from his very bones, Will realised two things.
First, he didn't know as much as he thought he did.
Second, he was possessed. Again.
OR
Will is possessed again, and Mike can't find it within himself to hurt him to save his own life.

The prayer starts out general (confessions, pleas for forgiveness) and then turns specific. Before he knows it, he's praying to Cas.
His phone rings.
A raw laugh breaks from his throat when he sees who's calling.
He answers without words, just lifting the phone to his ear.
“Sam?” Cas says. “I heard you.”
In other words: After the events of 10x21 Dark Dynasty, Sam prays. Somehow, he finds himself praying to Cas, who comes, and makes a valiant attempt at disabusing Sam of the notion that the events of the evening are his fault. Cuddling and awkward attempts at comfort ensue. Needless to say, please don't read this if you don't want spoilers for the events of the episode.Bookmarked by Shaselma

“Sam… I know you need me to promise you tomorrow.” Cas murmured, sadness in his eyes as he stared at Sam’s watery green ones. He slowly bent his knees, bringing them to the same height. “But I won’t lie to you. You deserve better than that.”
A pained smile found its way over Sam’s cheeks. He seemed to be set on keeping most of his tears in, even though his lips were trembling from the effort. Cas wished he felt safe enough to let them go.
“What I can promise you is right now.” Cas was never good with words, but he was trying. As much as he wanted to make Sam feel better, he wouldn’t go about it dishonestly. He held too much love and respect for him to do such a thing. “—Can I touch your shoulder?”
