Contrary to expectations, however, the meeting with Prowl leaves you feeling a lot more optimistic for the future. Sure, he might have the tact of a sledge hammer to glass, but none of that matters overmuch when he's actually being really helpful. Probably the best boss you've ever had, really, when you get right down to it.Pushing you to excel, demanding nothing more than what you can give and expecting no shortage tendered.

Now, if only you didn't have to go and fall in love with the bastard, maybe your simple office life could have kept on being simple. Unfortunately for your poor little squishy heart, Prowl doesn't just want you to stay in his department as a productive employee.

Because Ratchet needed a medical assistant, and the Autobots needed someone who it didn't matter if their mind got read by the ominous prisoner held so carefully confined in a secured cell.
So, that's how you met Soundwave. Big scary bad guy all locked up and rusting away, but that's not how things stay between you.

Another wandering tale. Whimsical. Less structured and edited than my more serious novels. Yet another tale written for fun and emotional therapy. This tale has a lot more emotional angst and hurt, especially due to the nature of the imprisonment / captor circumstances.

Summary
It wasn’t alive.
You had to keep telling yourself that. Repeating it like a mantra over and over again, in the hopes that you’d force yourself to believe it. That no matter how much the robot screamed in pain, or how more and more evidence began to stack up that it was more than just fancy inanimate machinery, that it was just that; machinery. Not alive.
You had to believe it.
Otherwise, you’d have to come to terms with the fact that you were not only complicit in the suffering of another living being, but actively responsible for it.
