Back at Oakhurst for their yearly visit, Scott goes to see Avid's grave alone as usual. But this time, weird things are happening.
Avid's grave has been desecrated by a dark creature, and Scott swears to find and kill whatever it was that had done harm to Avid's memory only to find something he'd never thought he'd see.
This time in Oakhurst, things are much more dangerous, even though the dangers are to themselves.

Evbo had come to the conclusion fairly early on that the particles originated from players, but what he couldn’t quite understand was why some players glowed more than others. Ally, for example, had a faint sheen that hovered around them, floating calmly but sparsely.
Most players were like that, he learned. Some were brighter, some dimmer. Occasionally a player would be so dim that the glow was barely there, but there was always something.
EMF was blinding.Evbo has always hated the way that he looks. EMF thinks that everything about him is perfect.

Actually, all of them were. Little shit bastards. Feral goblins. Hellspawn. If it wasn’t Sakura literally changing the landscape of the field underneath Kakashi’s feet, it was Sasuke swinging a sword crackling with lightning, both of them subtly herding him towards Naruto’s hundred shadow-clones, all of which were so fast he could barely track them even with the sharingan.
Kakashi was starting to think his team definitely didn’t have the same problems as the others.
