Smiling that thousand watt Talis smile, the insolent little pup says, “A real good forty seven.”

Things go a little differently. Viktor, a professor known for his harsh grading and dry wit, shocks the highest ranks of the Academy by sticking his neck out for one Jayce Talis. After unsuccessfully trying for years to affect change, he sees the opportunity that ‘Hextech’ affords. And, much to his chagrin, the face and mind behind it.
Jayce is everything he’s sworn off: young, handsome, and an alpha. When his constant presence and easy affections reawaken old urges, Viktor finds himself torn clean between acting sensible and digging his teeth in deep.

Summary
When Viktor finally asks why Jayce stayed behind inside the Anomaly with him, Jayce stares at him as though he’s supremely disappointed by the question— as if Viktor has betrayed his own brilliance by asking something so irredeemably stupid. “How could I not? We’re partners.”
Partners, Jayce calls them. Not for the first time, Viktor wonders: Partners in what?

Or: Jayce and Viktor survive the Hexcore, a blizzard, their own bodies, sharing a bed and all the things they’re too afraid to say. Slowly, they put themselves back together— piece by stubborn piece.

It’s not like he hasn’t had these thoughts before. Jayce is thirty-two. He’s had plenty of time to have a series of bisexual panics. None of them convenient.
So he’s not surprised when he looks at Viktor and idly thinks, he’s hot. He’s surprised at the sort of unmitigated joy it brings him, like turning on the lights and finding yourself home after a long time away. Attraction settles on Jayce like a blanket across his shoulders. A fairweather friend who’s stopped by for a drink.
or: jayce meets his downstairs neighbor on the rooftop. he tries not to fall too fast.

Emmrich dropped the folders he had been holding, the papers scattering to the floor. He flushed, and quickly shut the door behind him, despite the fact that there was no danger of anybody else seeing what lay beyond.
Rook was lying on his stomach over Emmrich’s desk, his chest pressing against the wooden surface of it, and his legs dangling over the edge, toes barely reaching the floor. He was completely naked, the only scrap of fabric on him being the soft, lilac rope that bound him.
