Wilhelm never got into a fight and never was sent to Hillerska. But things still happened pretty much canon. Erik died, leaving Wilhelm crown prince. But instead of meeting and falling in love with Simon, he marries a childhood friend, Felice. It was a marriage of convenience for both of them. They did their duty and had children, although now they regretted putting their children in that life. Both Felice and Wilhelm decide after he becomes King, they need to divorce. That was always the plan. Wilhelm knows when he dates again it will be with a man. So things fall into place that Simon agrees to be his fake boyfriend in public. Get the people of Sweden used to the king dating a man. Then later, they would break up and both would get what they wanted. Wilhelm would be able to date without being scared it would chase the man off being the first man to publicly date a king. And Simon would get the attention he needed to get his singing career off the ground. Too bad nothing happens the way they planned.
